Blending Agile approaches with greater governance

PRINCE2 Agile® is a combination of the popular PRINCE2® method with an Agile approach. PRINCE2 offers concrete and proven tools to manage, among other things, a complex environment and longer term planning. An Agile approach offers effectiveness and agility in making the products.

In the training you will get acquainted with a working method with which you can set up and manage your projects more flexibly. You will learn an internationally recognized method that combines the latest insights with the most popular generic project management method.

Results

After following this training you:

  • are familiar with the basics of Agile working.
  • understand why and when you can best combine PRINCE2 and Agile methods.
  • can apply the PRINCE2 principles, themes, processes, management products and management aspects to a project in a way that is consistent with the Agile character of the project.
  • are familiar with Agile concepts, areas of interest and instruments such as the Agilometer.
  • are familiar with Agile techniques such as Scrum, Kanban and Lean Startup.
  • understand the different roles and responsibilities in a PRINCE2 Agile environment.
  • understand how a project can be organized in an Agile manner in terms of planning, managing and reporting.
  • are prepared for the PRINCE2 Agile Foundation exam.

Target audience

The PRINCE2 Agile® Foundation course is designed for people who are new to PRINCE2 and are working in or around an agile project environment. It covers an overview of PRINCE2, an introduction to Agile and how to succesfully combine the 2 methods together.

If you already have a PRINCE2 Foundation certificate and a basic knowledge of agile concepts you should attend the PRINCE2 Agile® Practitioner training.

  • During this training the following concepts are also treated: backlog refinement, benefit (value), minimum viable product (MVP), definition of done (DoD), epic, user story, information radiator, sprint, spike, daily stand up, timebox, velocity

The exam is closed book, multiple choises and takes 1 hour (50 questions). You have to pass with minimum 55% or higher (min. 28 marks).

Steven Deneir

Steven Deneir worked several years as project manager, process engineer and quality assurance analist for Euroclear, Fortis, Tectrade and Infosoft. Steven is certified PRINCE2 trainer and SCRUM master. He also has extensive experience with CMMI, ADKAR, TPI and Volere.
